OUTREACH MINISTRY
At Riverview Calvary Chapel, we are dedicated to teaching and training the church body to be disciples of Christ. Our mission is to help people repair and restore fellowship with God in order to create passionate disciples. We want to love others as Jesus loves us, lifting up spirits, praying, and sharing God’s word with both non-believers and fellow Christians. We engage our local and surrounding communities once a month with love and respect, planting seeds and watering others in God's Word.
We strive to be doers of the Word and not hearers only, as James 1:22 instructs us: "But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves."
Inspired by the words of Charles Spurgeon, we are committed to making every effort to reach the lost: "If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to Hell over our dead bodies. And if they perish, let them perish with our arms wrapped about their knees, imploring them to stay. If Hell must be filled, let it be filled in the teeth of our exertions, and let not one go unwarned and unsprayed for."
We draw strength from the scriptures:
- Romans 10:14: “How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed in? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without preaching?”
- Matthew 9:37-38: “The harvest truly is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.”
- Matthew 28:19: “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”
Our approach is simple: to love our neighbors as ourselves, mirroring the love of Christ. We aim to lift spirits, offer prayer, and share God's Word with everyone we encounter, nurturing their faith and leading them closer to God. We are devoted to spreading God's love, one heart at a time.
